Mt. Qingcheng

Mt. Qingcheng is located at the Dujiangyan scenery spot of Chengdu. It is a famous mountain of Daoism. The area is green all year round which therefore was named “Qingcheng”, which means “Green Town” in Chinese. The mountain has numerous Daoist temples and sit along the paths to its peak. Jianfu Temple sits at the base of the mountain and is a large, well preserved Daoist temple from the Tang Dynasty. About halfway up the mountain you will see Tianshi Cave, the temple and school for Daoist, which was built at the end of the Qing Dynasty. Near the peak sits Shangqing Temple, which was built in the Jin Dynasty, and was reconstructed in the Qing Dynasty.
