As provincial capital of Sichuan Province in China, Chengdu is one of the most important economic, financial, commercial, cultural, transportation, and communication centers in Southwest China.
Along with the Giant Pandas and Sichuan Opera, tea houses and local culture are some of the crown jewels of Chengdu’s tourism industry.
Airport
Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is located in the central section of Chuanxi Plain and is 16km southwest to the center of Chengdu City. The airport is connected with the urban district via expressway. Take a taxi from the airport to IFS Residences at an estimated of RMB70.

Railway
Chengdu is the most important transport hub in southwestern China. There are trains running between Chengdu and the major cities of China, such as Beijing, Xi'an, Kunming, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Urumqi, Shanghai and Lanzhou.
Bus
It costs about RMB 1 for public buses and RMB 2 for air-conditioned buses in Chengdu. Tourists can reach most of the scenic spots in the city by bus.
Taxi
The starting price is from RMB 8 to RMB 9 for the first 2 km (depending on the taxi operator) and then RMB 1.9 for every additional km. Extra fee will be applied during 23:00 to 06:00 hours.

Metro/Subway
According to the Chengdu subway construction plan, there will be 18 subway lines in Chengdu. However, only Line 1, Line 2, Line 3 and Line 4 are serving the public at present. By 2020, another 10 lines will be developed in the city which will make metro transport accessible to the city's East Railway Station, West Railway Station and Shuangliu International Airport.
The price for the metro ticket lines range from CNY 2 to CNY 7 according to the traveling stops. Chengdu Transportation Smart Card (“Tian Fu Tong” in Chinese) holders can enjoy a 10% discount. One-day Pass, Three-day Pass and Monthly Pass are available.

The voltage in Chengdu is generally 220V/50HZ. Most wall sockets consist of a 2-pin plug and sometimes a 3-pin plug.
